On
March 4, 1978 a great Chicago tradition was silenced. After 102 years
of publication, The Chicago Daily News presses printed its last edition.
This historic piece of Chicago embodied an excellence acknowledged
by the countless Pulitzer prize winning writers and columnists. |

It is with this
same commitment to excellence Smithfield Properties is proud to
present the Daily News Townhomes and Lofts.
As with the
great investigative reporting of the Chicago Daily News, we have
attempted to rethink the underlying principles of construction
methods and materials for the Daily News. New technologies are
used to minimize maintenance, improve thermal and acoustical values,
be environmentally correct while producing a rich and sophisticated
palette, using only the finest quality materials.

Finally,
in terms of design, this project further expands the reintroduction
of the Chicago "Bay". First explored in our Seminary Court
and Cleveland Court projects, the "bayed" units add significant
floor space and court yard presence to your home. This feature coupled
with a break in the "expected" red brick facade, offers
a distinctive, aesthetically significant redefinition of a Chicago
townhome. |
